The first section of the route has been modified and now takes us along the Ringvaart canal and through the Amsterdamse Bos to Uithoorn. From there, we follow the Kromme Mijdrecht river and pass through the Nieuwkoopse Plassen nature reserve to reach the first checkpoint in Bodegraven.
We then head towards the Lekdijk via Oudewater (the oldest town in the Green Heart, dating back to 1265). We follow the dike, passing the second checkpoint in Nieuwegein, all the way to Amerongen, where the third checkpoint is located.
Here, you can catch your breath at cycling café De Proloog before tackling the Amerongse Berg climb. Via Amersfoort, we ride to Soestdijk (CP4), home to the former residence of Queen Juliana. From there, the route takes us through the forests and heathlands of the Goois Nature Reserve to Muiden, before heading back to the finish in Amsterdam.
