The route is inspired by the original Rondje Nederland route.
As the Afsluitdijk is not yet open to cyclists, we will take the Houtribdijk into Flevoland instead. From there, we cross the Noordoostpolder into Friesland (CP1) and Drenthe. Following the River IJssel south, we make our way to Nijmegen and briefly cross into Germany (CP2). We then turn west, passing through Limburg and North Brabant before touching Zeeland (CP3). From there, we head past Rotterdam and return to Amsterdam through the Green Heart of the Netherlands (Groene Hart).
All in all, this route takes in 11 of the Netherlands' 12 provinces, plus a little bit of Germany!
In 2026, this new route received good reviews from many riders, so we have decided to keep it largely unchanged.
